Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will repair and maintain a variety of large commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and supporting equipment with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring judgement to locate malfunctions. You will troubleshoot a variety of large commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and supporting equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance on heating boilers and/or boilers and/or boil systems and auxiliary equipment. You will mount, connect, and adjust components , such as transformers, motors, electrodes, relays, solenoids, switches, pneumatic and electrical thermostats, rheostats, aqua stats. steam glam seals, bearings, and drive gears. You will plan lay out and install a variety of large complex commercial and industrial systems and supporting equipment. You will install., repair, and modify large/complex systems that provide for a variety of air conditioning functions such as heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidify, cleaning, filtering, and circulating. You will install, maintain, repair, and modify large/complex heating and power boilers and support equipment including mechanical system controls and distribution lines. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision: Repairing, installing, and maintaining various types of air conditioning systems, including troubleshooting and diagnosing issues; utilizing blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to properly maintain HVAC systems; performing preventive maintenance on heating boilers and/or boiler systems and auxiliary equipment; and applying expertise in HVAC regulations and protocols to uphold workplace safety standards. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
