Machinist

LOCATION:

Saline, MI COMPENSATION: Depending on experience!

SHIFTS/HOURS: 

8:00pm start working 8-10 hours up to 50 hours per week.  Overtime is not mandatory!

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Machinist I, you will be in the machining team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to alternate between setting up and operating various machine tools, such as CNC mills, CNC lathes, manual mills, manual lathes, grinders, and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure maximum levels of production by operating machinery with precision and skill.
• Perform machining of parts and products based on drawings, specifications, and material requirements.
• Operate and adjust semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform progressive machining operations.
• Meet close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications, demonstrating considerable skill.
• Work from programming instructions and operational data to perform various machining operations, such as bore, mill, drill, face, thread, profiling, and contouring.
• Follow proper operating procedures and maintain accurate records in accordance with our plant management system.
• Prioritize safety guidelines and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure the production of quality parts while meeting scrap and rework standards through in-process inspection.
• Use measuring devices and fixtures to maintain quality standards on all produced parts.
• Record production data to avoid costly errors.
• Assist in machine set-ups, tool offsets, and program edits under direct supervision.
• Demonstrate positive relations and teamwork as per our company's established values and leadership blueprint.
• Recognize and resolve tooling wear problems.

QUALFICATIONS
