Job Description Summary

We are looking for an experienced Project Finance Leader to Partner with the regional project finance team in owning the financial accounts of large turnkey HVDC project (Engineering scope) and be the finance business partner to the HVDC Project/Engineer Manager and other project functions.

Role / Job Description:

The HVDC Project Finance Leader has overall responsibility for reporting and controlling requirements for the Engineering scope of all large turnkey HVDC projects for GE Vernova, Grid Systems Integration (GSI) business. The Project Finance leader will interface with Supply chain facilities and all the HVDC Project teams based globally. In terms of detailed scope and responsibilities are as follows:

Key responsibilities

  • Accountable for all financials for the Engineering project scope PDG (Product Delivery Group) with special emphasis on Project profitability

  • Accountable for Sales forecasting and backlog convertibility.

  • Partnering Region Finance teams in being the key contact for all large HVDC projects engineering scope financial requirements.

  • Supporting the GSI Project finance leader in ensuring Governance and co-ordination is in line with Business line and Region’s requirements.

  • Have full ownership of all financial movements with regards to revenue, cost, margin in conjunction with operational activities. Ensure that such information is consistent, approved and reconciled on a regular basis within the ERP systems & related tools.

  • Have full accountability of all financial movements and margin deviation prepared by cost controller and challenge it before communicated to Region Finance team.

  • Analyze budget deviations & drive mitigation actions to prevent leakages.

  • Along with project team, support preparation and challenge project forecasted trading and provide data to Regional FP&A when required.

  • Drive planning sessions such as Long-term strategy planning and annual budget preparation.

  • Check, control, and monitor movements in Actual and Committed Costs, ask for corrections when necessary.

  • Provide input on claim valuation to ensure project profitability is professionally managed.

  • Partner PEM and Product delivery group leaders to drive cost synergy and cost reduction initiatives for project local scope with the intent of improving project margins.

  • Provide all necessary support to Product Delivery group teams on Project financial issues including Forex cover, Tax exposure, internal and external audits etc.

  • Develop strong relationships and continuous communication flows with Region Project Finance to ensure that working assumptions are shared, consistent and reported in a timely manner.

  • Drive financial processes & instructions and internal controls, including DOA

  • Be a partner and support Region Finance Leaders to drive Projects & process standardization.

  • The role will be additionally responsible for all of the above for FACTS Statcom projects.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors Masters, CPA, or equivalent degree in Finance

  • Graduate from GE’s finance Leadership programs

  • Language: English mandatory (fluent speaking and writing)

  • 8+ finance experience including in Energy/Power/Transmission business.

  • Candidates with relevant HVDC / Turnkey Project & related Finance experience will be preferred.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Experience in the use of SAP

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in managing relationships within a complex matrix environment.
