*What would you be doing? *
Act as the internal "database expert" within the team and serves as the point of contact for all things database
Designs major core database services such as replication, data high availability, disaster recovery, implementation of database techniques and features to support service scalability, and performance and stability for the platform
Resolves complex technical issues and improve system availability, resiliency, and performance
Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, etc
*Minimum Requirements: *
Must be a US Citizen and possess a current/active TS/SCI and be willing and able to obtain a CI Polygraph
Requires at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Expert in managing modern data back-ends to include Elasticsearch, HDFS, Neo4j, Postgres, and Accumulo
Willing to work onsite at Government customer sites in Northern Virginia
*Desired Skills: *
Experience with Ansible
Designing and creating database structures including normalized, de-normalized, and data warehouse database topologies
Performing optimization of database to increase performance
Preparing database environment(s) for application deployments
Taking proper measures to ensure optimum database security; experience with PKI and Kerberos based authentication and authorization schemes and role-based access constructs
Creating and updating database documentation in support of the database platform
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Processing and managing large data sets (multi TB scale)
COMPTIA Security+ certification or CISSP certification or the ability to acquire and maintain certification
