Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is currently seeking a Senior Scientist, In Silico Biologics Optimization to join our In Silico Proteins team within the Therapeutics Discovery organization, located in Spring House, PA.

This is a technical position in the In Silico Proteins team within the Therapeutics Discovery organization, which provides computational support to accelerate and enhance discovery of the best drug candidates across all therapeutic modalities. This role will specifically interact with several functional groups across the Biologics Discovery organization to support the discovery and optimization of protein-based therapeutics. The successful candidate will work collaboratively between our functional groups and across organizations to develop rapid and scalable computational approaches for hit identification and optimization of lead protein therapeutics.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or related field with at least 3 years of experience directly applied to problems in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical sector is required.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R is required.

  • Strong statistical understanding of advanced topics in machine learning and artificial intelligence applied to modeling protein structure and attributes is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage commercial modeling software and predictive tools for mitigating protein liabilities to advance candidate therapeutics is required.

  • Direct experience with HPC, cloud-based and GPU-accelerated compute platforms is preferred.

  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, and excellent interpersonal skills are required.

  • Excellent organization and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex computational concepts effectively to a non-expert audience are required.

  • The position is located in Spring House, PA and may require approximately 10% travel.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $113,000 to $195,500. The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
