Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the vibrant location of Portage, Michigan. This role is integral to our team, involving responsibilities such as implementing and maintaining financial controls and procedures, preparing financial statements and reports, and supporting audit processes. This role is ideal for someone who is adept at using General Journal and General Ledger Systems and has strong skills in audit, budgeting, and forecasting.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures

• Prepare accurate financial statements and reports

• Support audit processes, including financial and information systems audits

• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes

• Contribute to the annual budget and forecasting processes

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger

• Use General Ledger Systems to manage financial information

• Implement ERP systems to streamline accounting processes

• Ensure compliance with accounting and financial regulations

• Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.

• Proficient in General Journal and General Ledger maintenance.

• Experience with General Ledger Systems is mandatory.

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures and Year End Closings.

• Demonstrated ability in Audit - Financial and Audit - Information Systems.

• Extensive knowledge in preparing Annual Budget and Annual Operating Budget.

• Skill in Budgeting - Forecasting is required.

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
