Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Systems Engineer, Operational Configuration Control (OCC) Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

In this role you will work with leadership to lead a variety of disciplines and interface with both NG & customer stakeholders. Your role will need you to p rovide visibility and change project development and report execution status to upper management. Additionally you will provide recommendations to program leadership and the team for any work around to meet critical milestones, as well as coordinate with program leadership and customer to resolve issues and improve processes. You can be expected to use your skill in leading initiatives and ability to interface with all levels of management and employees. You'll also need s trong communication skills to coordinate with the customer as well as the internal Integrated Product Teams (IPT).

Essential Functions Include:

  • Technical review gate prior to Configuration Change Board (CCB).

  • Thorough technical CCB package generation and technical oversight

  • Delivering presentations and technical packages to customers, management and program stakeholders

  • Action Item management

  • Approved modification implementation management

  • Measuring and reporting of modification performance

  • Change agent for change Implementation process & culture

  • Work with responsible engineers & customer community, both technical & leadership

  • A solid understanding of engineering process with execution experience across the program lifecycle

  • Broad technical understanding with insight to maintenance operations.

  • Configuration & data management.

  • Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) Management.

  • Strong leadership & communication skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline with 14 years of related military / professional Systems Engineering experience OR a master's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of related military / professional Systems Engineering experience OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline with 9 years of related military / professional Systems Engineering Experience

  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to start of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

  • Should have experience in troubleshooting of small to large scale infrastructure

  • Experience in managing projects from concept through implementation.

  • Experience in full lifecycle of Systems Engineering.

  • Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.

  • Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders.

  • ATDC Program Access

Salary Range: $165,000 - $247,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
