Job Overview:

The Infrastructure Delivery Engineering team focuses on all aspects of the Data Center—from planning and design to delivery. This role involves scaling processes to meet the high-capacity demands of our large and hyperscale customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and strategy for the team.

  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team.

  • Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable services for managing Data Center enitities.

  • Manage the integration of new services with existing systems through well-established contracts.

  • Collaborate with geographically distributed teams to deliver large-scale projects on time with high quality.

  • Shape the product to scale OCI's capacity, addressing abstract problem statements and dynamic business growth.

Challenges:

  • Understanding a complex domain and abstract problem statements.

  • Shaping products to scale OCI’s capacity and network demands.

  • Managing the fast-paced growth and improving systems' ability to scale out.

Required Qualifications:

  • MS or BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.

  • Proven track record of delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed services.

  • Proficiency in microservice design patterns, service-to-service communication protocols, and developing highly reliable services.

  • Experience with monitoring solutions for large-scale environments.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills.

  • Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, and distributed systems.

  • Understanding of databases, virtualization technologies (Docker, Containers), and service metrics and alarms.

  • Experience in an operational environment with mission-critical services and on-call responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading teams developing services on public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle).

  • Proven success in building teams and organizations in a v1 product development setting.

  • Experience working with external customers and translating requests into prioritized work or features.

  • Understanding of the physical asset lifecycle within a cloud-scale data center.

  • Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management systems and tools.

  • Proficiency in using Kubernetes in CI/CD environments.

Responsibilities

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

US: Hiring Range: from $84,700 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
