Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to manage our company's financial transactions related to accounts payable. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role will report directly to the Accounts Payable Manager and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.

Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently, including verifying invoices, coding expenses, and obtaining approvals.

  • Match purchase orders with invoices and reconcile any discrepancies.

  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and monitor payment terms to take advantage of discounts and avoid late fees.

  • Process employee expense reports and reimbursements in accordance with company policies.

  • Communicate with vendors and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions using accounting software.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and address any discrepancies or past due balances.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes as needed.

  • Generate and distribute accounts payable reports and analysis to management as requested.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
