The primary purpose of your job position is to display comprehensive knowledge of clinical nutrition and therapeutic

diets; complete participant nutritional assessments and reassessments as needed; obtain participant food preferences

and adhere to dietary modifications; determine adequacy of current diet and supplements when necessary; conduct

meal rounds and sanitation inspections; as well as providing nutritional education to participants, caregivers, and staff.

Position Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of clinical nutrition and therapeutic diets, conduct participant nutritional assessments, determine dietary modifications, provide nutritional education, and ensure compliance with dietary standards and regulations.

What You Will Do:

  • Evaluate, develop, mentor, coach, counsel, and discipline department staff.

  • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and corporate integrity programs.

  • Act within designated roles during disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

  • Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes.

  • Conduct initial and annual comprehensive nutritional assessments for all participants.

  • Monitor monthly weights, medical diagnoses, and drug-nutrient interactions.

  • Perform initial and annual competencies on Dietary Aides.

  • Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of the serving kitchen.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition, dietetics, or related field.

  • Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist licensure.

  • Minimum one (1) year of documented experience working with frail or elderly population.

  • Must possess comprehensive knowledge of clinical nutrition and therapeutic diets.

  • State of North Carolina Employee Medical Statement meeting job requirements.

  • Strong communication, conflict management, decision-making, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
