JOB OVERVIEW

MartinFederal has an opening for a Software Engineer to join our team of talented and diverse individuals. This role will directly support a program providing IT support to the Intelligence Community (IC). In this position, the candidate serves as software architect in support of the application development team and is responsible for ensuring the quality and responsiveness of applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as a software engineer on an application development team.
  • Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features.
  • Involved in the sustainment of production legacy systems, plus the design, development, and implementation of new functionality within existing applications as required.
  • Involved in all aspects of software design/development, working closely with a team of developers to support systems for a mission-critical function for a DoD customer.
  • Design / develop new software systems and/or enhancements to existing systems based on requirements from the user community.
  • Maintain existing production systems for a mission-critical function within the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Work with Team Lead, key customer stakeholders, and/or the team's Requirements Manager to understand functional needs and provide IT solutions for the customers.
  • Assist with the development of test plans for any software deliverable.
  • Essential functions will be performed on a daily basis, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • US Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance; may require CI Poly but will be scheduled if needed after employee starts.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Requires demonstrated technical expertise in computer system applications.
  • Prior experience with the following technologies is required:
    • C#
    • Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
    • Visual Studio
    • SQL Server
  • Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Regular attendance is necessary and required.
  • Must be able to work a 40-hour work week, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical periods and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
  • Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to work well with and support co-workers and clients.
  • Must be able to communicate, verbal and written, effectively.
  • Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with clients, management and employees;
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to the employee or others.
  • Must be able to support and work in a proact ve team environment.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed.
  • Must hold the safety of yourself and those around you as the number one priority in the workplace.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Security + Certification or willingness to pursue that certification shortly after starting the position.
  • Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Team Foundation Server (TFS).
  • Proficient experience using frameworks such as AngularJS.
  • Knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum.
  • Expertise in various COTS, GOTS, and open source tools.
  • Knowledge of AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with any of the following technologies:
    • AngularJS and ASP.NET Web API
    • Entity Framework
    • Windows Forms development
    • Windows Server, Hyper-V, and IIS
    • Node.js
    • Docker

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Inside office environment.
  • Working on a computer for long periods of time.
  • May involve long period of sitting at a desk.
  • The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed.
