Koniag Management Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an SAP Hana DBA with an active Secret Clearance to support KMS and our government customer. This is a remote opportunity.

The SAP Hana Database Administrator (DBA) will assist the Government Customer with managing, organizing, and controlling the implementation of SAP Hana module implementations, upgrades, and support packs. Assists with the management of the installation, monitoring, and performance tuning of SAP Environments, ensuring the efficient and secure operation of the SAP systems and applications to meet expanding business requirements.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to :

  • Assist the Government with managing the installation of new SAP Hana modules and instances to meet expanding business requirements. This includes translating requirements to hardware requirements and developing a timeline for the installation of hardware and software and configuring the system.

  • Assists with the daily monitoring of all the SAP systems and assists in development of procedures and policies for the efficient operations of the SAP systems.

  • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of the Customer’s policies and procedures for all SAP Hana related configuration standards and system resources.

  • Works with the outsourcer to manage and schedule Basis Staff for weekdays and week-end coverage of SAP Production systems to support the end users to provide 24x7 availability.

  • Reviews and documents problems with external SAP support personnel.

  • Communicates with ABAP developers, help desk support personnel, and other support groups to resolve system issues.

  • Provides assistance to IT developers on efficient use of the SAP system and its resources.

  • Maintains and updates policies and procedures for the operation of the SAP systems including backup and recovery of the SAP to be in compliance with SOX.

  • Provides assistance in developing and implementing proper security measures in order to provide data integrity and confidentiality of information.

  • Develops, maintains, and documents standard operating procedures, including backup and recovery of the SAP system, system error detection procedures, database reorganization, and SAP background job scheduling.

  • Work with the technical and project managers to identify Basis needs for upcoming projects including SAP landscape design and capacity planning.

  • Work closely with Infrastructure Manager to design ERP landscape.

  • Proactive analysis of the current SAP environment to detect issues and recommend solutions for improvement.

  • Troubleshoot SAP Hana issues.

  • Project management related to SAP Hana initiatives.

  • Assist other team members in other specialties as needed to accomplish the overall mission.

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be a US Citizen and hold a current DoD Secret Clearance.

  • 7+ years related experience.

  • Extensive ERP support experience in a large-sized SAP environment.

  • Extensive HANA skills including SAP installation and upgrade, UNIX, Oracle, and SAP performance tuning skills.

  • Experience in installing and fine-tuning SAP environment

  • Experience in managing HANA and Solution Manager Projects.

  • Project Management experience using Microsoft project is a must.

  • Powerful analytical and problem-solving skills – including the ability to develop solutions in new and creative ways.

  • Ability to combine knowledge and expertise from diverse areas in new/unique ways to solve problems.

  • Strong ability to lead disparate teams from different groups form consensus.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong ability to brief senior executives with little notice.

  • Comfortable in a fast paced/dynamic environment.

  • Ability to function in an action officer type role when needed.

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II (or Level III) certification is required (at least one of the following- CCNA Security, CySA+ , GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP and CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or Related SAP Certification is highly desired.

  • To be considered, you must have a CURRENT/ACTIVE Secret-level security clearance.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
