The Opportunity

  • The Motors Insurance Corporation (MIC) Account Executive - Sales, reporting to the MIC Director of Sales, is responsible for the direct/indirect sales promotion of all products that fall under the MIC/GM umbrella. Responsibilities include working with all dealer personnel who are impacted by MIC/GM products, creation and sharing of sales information to appropriate dealership staff and follow-up of dealership to ensure correct procedures are followed for reporting of products sold.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada, mobile and willing to live in the Greater Vancouver / Lower Mainland of British Columbia (within 40 kilometers of Vancouver City). This position requires approximately 2 weeks of travel out of every month servicing dealers throughout British Columbia.

The Work Itself

  • Manage sales activity and provide essential training in all departments at GM dealerships relating to Vehicle Service Contracts and CPO programs (Used Vehicle Dept., F&I Dept., Sales, Service, Accounting) through regular value-added contacts to occur within 60-day intervals.

  • Generally, be the ‘face’ of CPO and GM Protection Products programs to GM dealerships.

  • Analyze statistical reports and data to monitor and manage dealer account performance for maximum throughput and counsel dealers on best practices to maximize returns in the F&I, Used Car and Service Departments (MIC, GM Protection Products, CPO sales and loss reports, Dealer Financial statements.

  • Assist dealerships in managing their CPO Co-op advertising budget and related processes.
  • Perform an annual Standards Evaluation at CPO dealerships to assess dealership performance and adherence to GM CPO standards and prescribed processes.

  • Ensure Proper Certification/Inspection process is in place at dealerships.

  • Monitor Reconditioning expense relative to the market area.
  • Assess Key Used Vehicle Department Performance Metrics relative to market area.

  • Develop and execute annual territory plan to include identification of target conquest accounts and target performance accounts for focused activity to acquire new business or drive performance improvements relative to GM Protection Products and CPO.

  • Manage all warranty exceptions with appropriate communication to affected parties and business partners.

  • Assist GM sales personnel and serve as a resource providing mechanical products and processing training expertise. Serve as a subject matter expert relative to GM Protection Products and the CPO program.

The Skills You Bring

  • Sales experience required, preferably b2b.
  • Automotive experience required.
  • Experience working in a dealership or in a dealer-facing capacity preferred.
  • Strong F&I sales skills preferred.
  • Dealership operations and insurance product knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work with PC applications and menu selling systems.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Business related undergraduate degree is preferred as well as industry designations.
  • Ability to develop business relationships with dealer principles and decision makers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Well-developed business management, presentation and relationship selling skills.
  • High level of accountability and ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to objectively manage conflicting priorities.
  • Assist with local marketing campaigns.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada, mobile and willing to live in the Greater Vancouver / Lower Mainland Area for this Work from Home/Remote role with travel throughout the Province of British Columbia.

Base Pay Range:

Emerging: 85000

Experienced: 95000

Expert: 105000

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in a variable incentive plan
