We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer/Technologist to be part of the Corporate Electrical Engineering Team with a focus on the Manufacturing Execution System (MES). The MES System is designed to collect production and QA data and provides tools to the users to analyze in decision making. This system provides production reports for managers to report production speeds, efficiencies, downtime, and quality along with valuable data for process and QA.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Provide support to numerous plants on the MES System to resolve issues and provide training.

  • Configuration of new MES applications including implementation, testing, and commissioning.

  • Modify existing applications as requested by operations group to provide reports and data required to increase operating efficiencies and reduce downtime.

  • Modify Allen Bradley PLC and HMI applications to support data collection.

  • Debug SQL databases scripts, data collection and data integrity.

  • Upkeep with the Server maintenance for assisting data collection.

  • Develop new reports/dashboards by researching and then getting the functional spec from the end user.

  • Train and develop compliance metrics for usage of the system with end users and report to stake holders.

  • Integration with ERP and EAM systems and maintain cross functional connections from the MES.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering/Technology.

  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC for connectivity, data collection and development of ladder logic for achieving those goals. Control Logix, Compact Logix, Guard Logix, PLC 5 and SLC 500;s.

  • Knowledge of Ethernet networks and network communication standards. Exceptions of Firewall whitelisting and routing, communication ports and TCP/IP protocol interfacing with CIP.

  • Working knowledge of C, C# and PYTHON; API, SQL, FactoryTalk HMI Systems and Directory

  • Understanding OPC connectivity for Allen Bradley PLC’s, Siemens PLC etc using RSLINX, KEPWARE etc.

  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis in calculating important KPI’s such as OEE, OTE, OME etc.

  • Knowledge of Ignition and Scada System would be an asset.

  • Computer skills – AutoCAD Electrical, MS Project, Excel, Word, etc.

  • Organizational skills – able to manage projects with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent analytical, technical, problem-solving, research and teamwork skills.

  • Must be willing and able to travel to sites across North America and Europe.
