The Senior Software Development Engineer is accountable for designing, developing, and testing software systems, modules, or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools. Incumbents within this job are accountable for detailed design for certain modules/sub-systems, doing prototype for multi-vendor infrastructure, and showcasing it internally or externally to clients. Design and develop functionality in a micro-services environment working with APIs, telemetry data, and running ML/AI algorithms on it, working with both structured and unstructured data.

The Service Now Developer shall be responsible for Service Now ITSM, ITOM, Integrations, and associated modules.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Work closely with Product Owners and Practice Managers to receive detailed business/user requirement specifications that identify the goals of the program
Assist with the preparation of a technical requirements document, including systems and flowcharts that diagrammatically show how the information will flow through the computer and its peripheral or related equipment after the planned change
Analyse business requirements and ensure that the designed solution meets those requirements
Perform proof of concept if required
Transform the detailed requirements into a complete, detailed systems design document that focuses on how to deliver the required functionality
Convert the design into a complete information system. This includes acquiring and installing the systems environment, creating and testing databases, preparing test case procedures, preparing test files, coding, compiling, refining programs, and performing test readiness review
Ensure that throughout the development phase, the process is documented including the development procedures for application use and security
Actively engage with Product Owners and Practice Managers during testing for UAT Clearance
Assist with the resolution of any problems identified in the integration and test phases
Examine any program errors in logic and data and make the necessary recommendations to correct the program as required and/or escalate the problem accordingly
Perform deployment of the code to Prod environment and provide post deployment support
Support all the code sets and implementations that have been implemented in production in accordance with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for the business
Write and distribute the task descriptions in a production environment to operate and maintain the solution that has been designed and implemented
Assist with post-implementation process reviews
Adhere to Sprint plan
Documentation and communication of changes made to the system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
Expert in Service Now ITSM, ITOM and associated modules.
Knowledge on multi-technology application design best practices which enable them to act as trusted advisors to internal clients on optimal application designs
Ability to take holistic views of application environments, including hardware platforms, applications, databases, operating systems, and storage
Ability to work with abstract concepts and have sound problem solving and analytical skills
Strong people interaction and collaboration capability
Deep technical understanding of development and platform engineering
Excellent client-centricity with the ability to focus on business outcomes
Highly Organized and planned individual
Self-starter and self-managed
Strategic ability to define the technical direction in the portfolio of products including technical strategies and plans and execution plans
Strong stakeholder and relationship management
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of stakeholders, including the technical teams and clients
Ability to demonstrate impeccable attention to detail and work well within a team environment
Good knowledge of project management principles, SCRUM, KANBAN to ensure that projects with clients are executed accordingly
Ability to continuously contribute to the improvement of internal effectiveness by contributing to the improvement of current methodologies, processes, and tools
